Tanushree vs Nana: A Scandal or Not?

One way to create publicity for a movie? Make sure there’s enough scandal, preferably between actors. Horn Ok Please is doing a pretty good job with that, since the story emerged of a “situation” between item girl Tanushree Dutta and aging actor Nana Patekar. That situation apparently happened at the shooting of a song with Tanushree, where Nana was meant to make a short appearance only. It seems that Nana hung around on set a bit more than he was needed and seriously got into Tanushree’s personal space. She then stormed out when it was obvious that no one was listening to her requests. Since then, the two have been hurling insults and accusations at each other ranging from “dirty old man” to “oversensitive Diva”. Want to read their side of the story?

Tanushree starts off the story saying, "I made it clear to the producer, director and choreographer Ganesh Acharya that I'm not a run-of-the-mill item girl. I was very particular about my clothes and movements. We rehearsed for nearly a week for the song. And now they're saying I was uncooperative and not ready to rehearse."

She also finds fault with Nana being on the sets during the shoot, when he wasn't supposed to be involved much in the song. "From the start I wasn't comfortable with Nana Patekar's presence. In fact after the first day of shooting I told my mother something didn't feel right there. Nana had just three words 'O yara re' in the song. Still he insisted on being around throughout. That was fine. He's the film's hero and it's his prerogative."

Nana thinks Tanushree is overreacting however, saying, "I'm the leading man of the film. Mera haq banta hai. I think after more than 35 years in the industry I've earned the right to make suggestions. If that's seen as interference, so be it. I won't stop being passionate about my work just because it's seen as interference."

But then Tanushree saw Nana's presence as a bit more than just a silent observer, "But then he started acting hugely aggressive. Instead of the choreographer Nana started showing me the steps. I don't know since when has he become an expert dancer."

True, he's no Shahid Kapoor. Nana doesn't deny that his dancing abilities are limited but he felt he had every right to be involved though he stresses that his involvement was minimal, "And as far as interfering with the choreography is concerned you know how good I'm with my dancing. With two left feet, one foot injured, I don't think I can be accused of giving dance tips."

And the last straw involved a very angry Tanushree telling Nana off for getting a bit too touchy-feely, "A couple of times I pushed his hands away when he got too close for comfort. But it didn't seem to make a difference to him. He continued to direct my steps roughly and aggressively. Things got really out of hand when Ganesh incorporated steps where Nana could get physically close to me."

But Nana strongly denies this, saying that the shooting wasn't any different from any other day and subtly telling Tanushree to act like a professional, "It was a very crowded set where we were shooting. And the entrance door was very narrow. Maybe she got pushed around a bit. Hota hai. In all these years no one has ever accused me of unbecoming behaviour. I've worked with the best of them."

So the end of the story is that Tanushree felt she was treated very unfairly and disrespectfully and Nana being a bit too out of it, reminding people that he's been in the industry for a while and he would never act like that. So who do you believe, the item girl that may be throwing a diva tantrum or the guy that looks like he would totally molest a girl? (I'm not saying that he did…but hello, there's a reason why he usually plays the villain! He just looks the type.)

now thats just ridiculous, just because he looks like a villain, doesn't mean he is a bad man, and have u ever heard any such controversies about Nana Patekar till now?

I mean before this one...........

Well, Nana has a reputation as a hothead and so has been embroiled in controversies earlier with his costars, but nothing like this.

I never said he did anything wrong Perx, I just meant he looks the type. But we're not judging on appearances. If we did, people would be running away from me, screaming in the streets, lol.

No it was not a scandal. Every one has his/her own self respect.
