Celina Jaitley is disgusted with people in her neighbourhood, who stood by and did nothing as her brother lay injured on the street.
Celina's brother, Vikrant, was a victim of a hit-and-run incident in their neighbourhood of Mhow and according to reports, he was bleeding on the street for 25 minutes before a by-stander dialed Celina's father from Vikrant's cellphone. Vikrant is an army officer and Celina can't believe that people would be so apathetic to something like this.
The Shakalaka Boom Boom star rants,
“No one lifted a finger, while a man in uniform was dying. Finally, one gentleman who was passing by saw the scene and called up my father from my brother's mobile phone which was lying a little distance away.”
“My father ran all the way from our home in Mhow to the accident site. Fortunately, an army doctor who was passing by took charge of the situation until my father arrived.”
Celina's sisterly love may be questioned however, since learning that her brother is stable and out of danger, she returned to the shooting of Golmaal Returns for the climax scene before returning to Mhow,
“I felt very guilty about leaving and was back with my parents right after my shoot. I've hardly slept in the last one week.”
While I'm surprised at people's insensitivity as well, there is a reason that National Geographic printed that picture of people stepping over a beggar lying at a train station in India. Looks like Celina just cashed her first reality check.
