When you release a movie, you have to be around at every press and social event to garner publicity, but when you walk out of your own movie premiere, what kind of message is being sent to the fans? That the
movie is so bad that the lead actor couldn't even sit though the whole show?
Maybe that's the reason that Love Story 2050 flopped so badly. You know, that could also be a reason...a movie doesn't have to flop because of the weak plot, the bad acting, the over-reliance on special effects. Nah, it's because of Harman Baweja leaving the London premiere of LS 2050 that the movie bombed in the box office.
He says,
"We left at interval. We couldn't stay for the whole film because we had to catch a flight back to Mumbai to look into the film's release in India.
It was really sad that I could just stay for half of my first film. But I had no choice. We'd have missed our flight. We returned from London to Mumbai within ten hours. But never mind. I deputed some of my London-based cousins to look after the guests at the premiere".
To compare Love Story 2050 and Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na again, Harry Baweja preferred to have a quiet premiere with friends and family (and cast like Priyanka Chopra and Boman Irani of course) while Aamir Khan went the whole way and had a smashing premiere to celebrate his nephew's coming success.
Maybe the secret to a successful movie is the premiere? Dazzle people at the premiere so they'll applaud whatever you give them rather than have a cheap premiere where your audience have to choke down stale pretzels.
