The Indian legal system is dead!

So much for freedom of speech. It has officially died in India.

Do you remember when Om Shanti Om came out? It wasn't a brilliant movie with brilliant acting but the occasional hamming up (actually, the entire movie involved over-acting!) was kind-of funny. One scene featured Shah Rukh Khan covering up his face and pretending to be Manoj Kumar to gain entry to a premiere while the "real" Manoj Kumar is beaten up by bouncers.

Manoj After the release of the movie, the REAL Manoj Kumar was not impressed with the scene and demanded an apology and retraction. That didn't happen however and the case eventually ended up in court, despite claims by Farah Khan and Shah Rukh that they had apologized to Manoj and had even offered to remove the offensive scenes, which he had declined.

Recently OSO received it's release date for satellite viewing but this has brought about the wrath of the Kumar's. Now it seems like old and boring has won over less-old and less-boring, since the court has favoured Mr. Kumar and have ordered that OSO cannot be played on any satellite channel, unless the scene is removed. Ooh, Farah Khan is not going to be happy with that.

Do you think Manoj Kumar is covering his face and hopping with well-earned glee?
