Jail bird versus Jail bait...this should be good

It's been a while since we've seen any news about Sanjay Dutt. He's been in and out of jail and in and out of marriage over the last year but fans will soon see him in his next movie Kidnap.

Kidnap is due for an early October release but the main draws of the movie lie with returning old not-a-heartthrob Sanju and new darling of India, Imran Khan. Critics are already expecting it to be one of the bigger releases of the year and according to the few that have seen the short promo of it, insist that it looks like a hit.

The trailer is supposed to be watchable...very watchable, in fact, one reviewer insisted that he could watch it again and again.

The main plot in the movie is about a man (Sanjay) whose daughter (Manissha Lamba) has been kidnapped by a cocky, arrogant man (Imran) and the trailer features them having a little face-off.

Memorable lines from the trailer show a very older, maturer and menacing Imran telling Sanjay's character,
"Everything you do - eating, sleeping, walking, talking - will be decided by me.

Sanjay replies with an easy and slightly cliched, "Go to Hell"

Hmmm, do you think the Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na star will keep appealing to the girls? Of course he will, bad boys are hot!

Fun fact: Director Sanjay Gadhavi actually wanted Shahid Kapoor for Imran's role, but the decided to go with the newcomer when Sanju objected to Shahid's involvement.

Imran gets a Beemer...

Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na star, Imran Khan, has been gifted a BMW by his delighted uncle Aamir Khan following the success of his debut film.

The BMW retails at around 50 Lakhs (I'm guessing... ummm... 130,000 Dollars... Actually, I didn't guess that. I worked it out... In my head... and by in my head, I mean... my brain was sending signals to my hand to key in the numbers on my trusty scientific calculator) and is white in colour.

... Who buys white cars? They suck! They always get dirty so easily and if even a milliliter of bird poop manages to find its way onto the bonnet it looks as if an entire squadron of pigeons decided to conduct a raid on your car... Yeah... White cars suck. And if you don't agree than you clearly don't have a white car.

And getting a car just for one success? That's just asking for trouble! No one ever gave me a car when I got a good report. Ever. And I've had loads a couple one. Pfft. All I got was 5 hours on the internet. And not the "internet" internet. I had to use a computer with net nanny installed. Do you realize how frustrating it is, tying to find a way to disable that darned program?! And when you feel like you're on the verge of a breakthrough the browser shuts off because net nanny detected, "unsafe content."

... God, I hated her. An internet without free pornography is no internet at all.

... I'll bet Imran has internet in his new car. Internet without a nanny. Or at least GPS. GPS with a sexy voice giving out directions.

Aamir Khan does it again

Aamir Khan is no doubt a household name. Now with his latest film creating waves at the box office the uncle and nephew pair -Aamir Khan and Imraan Khan- have become a star pair.

The last few days have had the pair publicizing their latest venture heavily. Peeping out through every newspaper, television show, magazine (the latest Cine Blitz  have them on the cover page) and hoarding in the country, they have actually driven home the message of their new release. The pair have made guest appearances on channels like NDTV in a talk show where Aamir interviewed Imraan, a Khan 2 Khan exclusive and then of course, the much hyped appearance on Salman Khan’s game show “Dus Ka Dum.”

With nephew leaving no stones unturned in acting , the uncle known for being a perfectionist has done his best for projecting the right image and doing the marketing and publicity very …very well, in true Aamir Khan style. The result of course is evident. The efforts have no doubt bore fruit.

After several weeks of films bombing at the box office, Jaane Tu…ya Jaane Na has broken the cycle and come in as a whiff of fresh air. Genelia D’souza and the rest of the gang too have put up a wonderful performance and yes, of course we haven't forgotten Abbas Tyrewala who seems to be lost in Aamir's shadow.

Aamir has proved that hardwork, a vision and sincere efforts do pay off well, especially when you are Aamir Khan – the perfectionist.

July 4 – The war of the titans?

With big names of the film industry planning a blast (literally) on the 4^th of July, it sure is going to be a war of the titans. The date is fast approaching and Friday is going to see two new youngsters setting foot in the world of Bollywood. Yes, you guessed right it is Harman Baweja and Imraan Khan (actor Aamir Khan’s nephew).

The mega film "Love story 2050" is going to be released on the same date as Aamir’s “Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na”. With promotional activities on in full swing, it is all about reaching out to and appealing to the cine goer. Who would be more successful in driving home the message? Can money power actually be of any help? Would it be the success of the best man, just a few days more…and we have all the answers.

Harry Baweja has left no stones unturned in the film "Love story 2050" for son Haraman. He has used the best special effects…robots and the works. Actors Harman Baweja and co-star Priyanka Chopra are playing their parts of promoting the film to perfection. Their romantic link up too is expected to create some interest in the first film that the couple is going to be seen together in.

On the other hand, Aamir is definitely working very hard to make the launch of his nephew a stupendous success.

May the best man win… being an ardent fan of Aamir and Priyanka Chopra definitely has me in two minds. Which one should I go for on Friday the 4^th of July…..who would ultimately win in the Harman vs Imraan case…..a big gamble.
