Katrina Kaif is “Heroine No.1”

With back to back hits and the very latest “Singh is Kinng,” Katrina sure has displaced a lot of actors and moved on to the number one slot. From “Namastey London” there has been actually been no looking back for the actress. She has gone much above the expectations of her fans and her films “Apne”, “Partner,” “Welcome” and “Race” have all proved that this sweet looking doll faced beauty is undoubtedly the hot favorite with the cine-goers.

Katrina’s success has got her a line of film offers and also endorsements. She has been the face of “Veet”, the hair removal cream. Katrina’s success has let her step into Miss World (the Bachchan bahu) Aishwarya Rai’s shoes. Yes, Katrina is the new brand ambassador of the diamond jewelry brand “Nakshatra” and has replaced Aishwarya.

With several of her films slated for release in the coming months, the expectations sure are high. Subhash Ghai’s “Yuvraj” starring the actress is to release this October. Another big budget film of hers that would come soon is Rajkumar Santoshi’s “Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani” opposite the new sensation “Ranbir Kapoor.”

Katrina is the current hot favorite in Bollywood. She sure has everything going her way. Make the most of it girl (a hardworking, absolutely professional and focused attitude is what makes her different), you deserve every bit of it.

Salman Khan wants to get married... Katrina Kaif laughs...

Bollywood's eternal bachelor has reached that stage of his life where you get two options,

1) Get cats. Hire hookers and/or gold-diggers. Die alone in a pool of your own drool and phlegm.
2) Marry a gold-digger. Have kids. Die happy in the knowledge that you'll be leaving those disgusting children of yours behind.

Salman Khan has (quite stupidly) decided to go with option 2. After being harangued about his marriage arrangements for the last 10 years, Salman has announced that he will get married next year and plans to introduce his spawn into the world ASAP.

He says,

"I will marry next year, I’m settling down in 2009 and would like to become a father immediately."

Awesome! However it would've been even more awesome, had he told his girlfriend that he would be making her his wife within the next 6 months.

When Singh is Kinng star, Katrina Kaif was told of Salman Khan's wedding plans she reacted with something approaching shock. And then she tried to laugh it off saying,

"I think Salman said whatever he wanted to say. Let people make of it whatever they want. I have never commented on the personal side in the media. I don't wish to start right now."

God, I hope these two get married. If only to get Katrina Kaif-Akshay Kumar jodi away from Bollywood. If I have to watch another movie of those two retards "acting"... I'll... I'll... Probably turn it off. Like I always do. Then watch it in five minute bursts. So as not scratch off my face due to the terrible acting.

This is obviously going on the presumption that Salman Khan forces Katrina Kaif to retire post-marriage. But I don't think there's any doubt he'll do that. Y'know... Because... It's Salman Khan. It's what he does.

Katrina in trouble...again!

I don't know what's up with Katrina Kaif. Does she invite controversy over her dress or is she just stupid?

Kat was recently in Egypt shooting a song for Singh is Kinng with Akshay Kumar. Katrina gushes about the shoot, saying it was brilliant and fun and the best thing since sliced bread. Well, you get my point.

"It's among the most beautiful countries I have visited - the pyramids, the temples and the landscape are absolutely exotic. I even enjoyed the barbecue dinner on a boat on the Nile. We shot in a number of places and I've come back with fond memories of my trip."

Katrina is quiet about the song however. It's called 'Jee Karda' and obviously has Kat and Akki chasing each other around the pyramids. Katrina would also like to remind us about what a hardworking actress she is, because the shoot took place at 4 AM and even though it's winter in Africa now, the Egyptian sun is scorching.

The main problem came from Kat's dress, which apparently insulted the sensibilities of the Muslim nation who object to immodesty. This isn't the first time Kat's been in hot water over revealing her legs. Last year Indians were insulted when the Welcome star went to a durga wearing a short dress. No worries for Katrina though, if boyfriend Salman Khan isn't there to sort it out, then director Anees Bazmee will still do his actress a favour.

So Kat is actually not in trouble...oh well, maybe next time.

Salman and Katrina: Making history... One bad movie at a time...

Salman Khan is set to star in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming Bajirao Mastani, a period film set in rural India, alongside real-life girlfriend, Katrina Kaif. Bhansali who is known to extract good performances from mediocre actors (Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai in Hum DIl De Chuke Sanam) will have his work cut out with Katrina Kaif who's acting "ability" falls just short of Marilyn Monroe... current Marilyn Monroe... as in dead, decomposed Marilyn Monroe. Umm... May she rest in peace.

It wasn't supposed to be this tough for the opulent (read: wasteful and over-confident) Bhansali, who first offered the role to Aishwarya Rai and then to Kareena Kapoor before finally settling on Katrina Kaif.

I think Bhansali must have picked Katrina Kaif purely on her box office record. I mean... 1 flop in 10 films is quite impressive. It really tells you how far you can get in Bollywood with reasonable looks and no talent if you just somehow... merge... with the background.

Let's hope this film isn't as bad as the flop that was Saawariya... What was up with all the blue in that movie? I went in with such high expectations only to be faced with cinematography that wouldn't have looked out of place in a porno. I half expected the cast to rip off their clothes and indulge in a gang bang.

I was very disappointed. By the movie I mean. Not by the fact that they didn't have a gang bang...

...Why didn't they have a gang bang?

... Come to think of it, I'm also disappointed that they didn't have a gang bang.

Kat gets kicked out!

Wow, just when it seemed that Katrina Kaif could do no wrong, she gets totally dissed by being cut out of a movie altogether. The Welcome star was supposed to be one of the three girls romanced by Ranbir Kapoor in Bachna Ae Haseeno, the other two being Bipasha Basu and Deepika Padukone.

Unfortunately, director Siddharth Anand became camera-happy and shot a whole bunch of scenes with Bips and Dips that seemed perfect for the movie...so perfect that they took up the whole movie and Kat was left out, without a single scene shot.

"If we had kept Katrina's portion Bachna Ae Haseenon would've been one of the longest films in the history of Hindi cinema….much much beyond three hours."

"Nobody had the heart to break the news to her. When she heard she was out Katrina was really upset. But what to do? In fact Katrina's track was one of our favourites. But she saw our point of view when she saw the film. The only reason we dropped her track was because it hadn't been shot.

Otherwise she's the biggest star we've in our film. Katrina has had only one flop in her entire career. Dropping her track upset all of us."

That can't have been an easy choice for the Ta Ra Rum Pum director, and this cancellation leaves Katrina with only one more release this year. I wonder if boyfriend Sallu can do anything for Kat's career now? Should Siddharth be scared for insulting Kat, because Salman is definitely the arm-breaking kind-of guy.

Salman is Crazy and Possessive

He’s crazily possessive…and he can’t seem to let go of a grudge. Even though Salman Khan has often proved that he’s very generous and sweet, sometimes his behaviour borders on child-like as he holds petty grudges against actors.

It has been reported that Salman Khan supposedly forbid an unofficial girlfriend Katrina Kaif from acting in Ken Ghosh’s next project. The reason? Because she’ll be acting opposite Shahid Kapoor. It doesn’t make sense to me why Salman would freak over his girlfriend acting with a cutie like Shahid…oh wait, I get it. Yeah, I couldn’t be trusted alone with Shahid either.

Salman insists that trust isn’t an issue, he just doesn’t like Shahid Kapoor. There’s been reported tension between Sallu and Shahid since a world tour but I didn’t know it was that bad. A source gives us some details, 

“Everything was hunky dory till recently. Apparently, Katrina has problems with the dates and consequently, wants to opt out. But the real reason is that Salman doesn’t want her to work with Shahid because he has had a spat with the actor during a world tour in the past,” 

Firstly, the source needs to leave the 80’s and stop using words like “hunky dory” and secondly, Salman needs to take that out that belly-piercing because it’s turning him into a spiteful cheerleader. Ken will be OK however, as he still has Jiah Khan as his back-up starlet. Luckily she doesn’t have a crazy boyfriend.

Katrina Kaif Isn’t Competing with Kareena Kapoor...

You know... somewhere in that title there’s a good alliteration. I’m just too lazy to look for it right now, but... y’know... maybe when I’m 95, withered and old with no reason to live, I’ll have a go. Hopefully it will convince me to die. Or at least kill myself.

Katrina Kaif says that she’s not competing with Kareena Kapoor to become the highest paid actress in Bollywood, saying that Kareena is “far more senior” to her (Great English there. A damning indictment of the British education system).

Kaif goes on to say that she admires Kareena, describing her as a fantastic actress. Kaif’s denial comes after reports that she has been offered 4.5 Crores (that’s 45 million) to take up a role in Ken Ghosh’s Next. That’s a Crore more than Kareena’s highest pay check and around 5 million more than Aishwarya Rai will receive for Robot.

Please note that the above figures are all in Indian Rupees, which trades at around 45 Rupees to the Dollar. So India’s highest paid actress makes just about a Million Dollars per movie, which is still a Million Dollars too much.  I mean... Katrina Kaif has never displayed a modicum of acting talent in any role she’s played... I’m not even sure if “played” is the right word. I think “bastardised”, “mutilated” or “destroyed” might be more fitting. At least Aish and Kareena have shown chequered displays of talent over the course of their careers. And by chequered I mean, like... once or twice... between them... over 10 years.

Seriously, the producer should just offer Katrina a bit of cash for her image rights and replace her with a cardboard cut out. Than at least she won’t get in the way on the set. And you can use her as a coaster at lunchtime. And after shooting you can send her home with Baljit, the lonely cameraman from a rural farmhouse who came to Mumbai to achieve his dreams. The world will finally have some use for Katrina Kaif.

Why don’t producers think of these things?!
