Now with a real hit newcomer on the scene, who needs Ranbir Kapoor anymore? I'm assuming that's what Karan Johar was thinking. Reports have come in that he has given up on casting Ranbir to star with Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol is his next movie My Name is Khan.
The story is that Ranbir has been taking a while to accept the role of the terrorist in the movie, which moves away further from Karan's fluff films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and takes place in the realistic world of prejudice against Muslims. I think Ranbir really isn't in the position to reject roles like that, but I guess he's hoping that Bachna Ae Haseeno works out and he can pick roles that aren't that serious or negative.
Anyways, Karan has decided that Imran Khan is the new kid on the block and with a hit on his debut, has offered the role to him. There hasn't been any confirmation from Karan, but he has been quite open in his praise of the 23-year-old. Imran is interested in the role, but is supposedly asking Uncle Aamir for his opinion before signing on with another Khan.
Two generations of Khan's coming together? This I have to see. Also, the movie title would be creepy if it wasn't for the multitude of Khan's plaguing the industry...now it's just an interesting co-incidence.
