The old guy, once known as one of the top directors of Bollywood, is now having trouble attracting big names to his movies. Sanjay Leela Bhansali, once famous for gems like Black and Devdas, now infamous
for rubbish like Saawariya, is having problems signing any decent names for his movies.
At one stage, lots of youngsters and stars of the industry would have ripped off their right arm to work with Sanjay but after the fiasco of Saawariya, even Ranbir Kapoor won't have another go with Sanjay, even though it was him who launched Ranbir's career (with an over-hyped up but pointless movie).
Hrithik Roshan was approached to act in Sanjay's new movie, which also had a love-triangle storyline (will the guy never learn? Look how well it worked in Saawariya). Hrithik apparently rejected the role, citing date conflicts but how many of us actually believe him? Ranbir was also approached as the other male lead, but has also declined.
Shame for Bhansali, he's going to have to deal with some young unknowns and hopefully make a movie where India does not look like Venice before he can get a big name into his film again. Also, it would be nice if one of his movie's had a happy ending...I'm all for depressive heroes but a happy ending never hurt anyone.
